In light of the centennial of Roald Amundsen's expedition to the South Pole, we've been reminiscing about our own trip to Antarctica back in 1998. We traveled on a little expedition ship called the "Disko," since foundered off the coast of Greenland, and visited a number of the same places you did. Thanks for the memories and the photos.

Did the last 120 KM with my wife in 2009 and am grateful for the wonderful pics and descriptions. I can smell the eucalyptus, and uh, other things as well. Hope to do the le Puy route to santiago in 2013, and have studied your notes on your other routes as well.
Thank you for sharing. May you have many paths ahead. Might want to look at the Great Glen Way in Scotland.

We did this bit some 25 years ago the start of a longer trip. It was fantastic and we have some lovely photographs to look back on. The only down side, New-Year with only H2O!!

Hooked onto your site while starting to plan 1,400 km trek in Japan - 88 Temple Pilgrimage (Shikoku). FYI, I encourage you to check out the Trans Canada Trail - one day (I hope in my lifetime) you will be able to walk across this vast interesting diverse country on one trail with campsites, huts and quaint accomodations throughout.

Found your blog looking for more information about Queñua bark... and got stuck! I made the Santa Cruz trek in July 1981, so reading about that wonderful time in my life brought back incredible memories. There were no digital cameras then, and I took slides and black and white photos with my Hasselblad.

What a relief to stumble across a site that was actually helpful and insightful when trying to learn a little more in depth information about the walk, distances people actually manage to hike daily and accommodation available on or near the walk. Stumbled across the link to your blog whilst researching hiking around Canberra. I'm returning home to Australia after 3 1/2 years in the UK and am planning on some longer hikes now that my kids are grown and I've got more spare time.
