Whats new1 July 2005 - Guestbook re-activated after hacker prevention maintenance 15 May 2005 - After an interminable and inexcusable delay Part 40 uploaded back home in Canberra. As you may have seen I have had to disable the guestbook for the moment due to persistent hacking attacks. 22 April 2005 - Part 39 uploaded in tropical Rarotonga (farewell Aotearoa) 16 April 2005 - Part 38 uploaded in Auckland - The last Great Walk 8 April 2005 - Part 37 uploaded in Rotorua (finally) 31 March 2005 - Part 36 uploaded in Wanganui, back on the North Island, after a pleasant 2 days at Lochmara Lodge in the Marlborough Sounds and wild Cook Strait crossing 27 March 2005 - Part 35 uploaded in wet and stormy Kaikoura - the guestbook seems to be under constant hacker attack (maybe this is a back-handed compliment for the site) and when I delete their pastings, the last message also goes. My apologies to those people - I plan to find a more permanent solution when I get back to Oz, but for the moment can only apply band-aid fixes. 25 March 2005 - Part 26 (completed) uploaded in Kaikoura (heading north again) 19 March 2005 - Part 34 uploaded in Te Anau 16 March 2005 - Part 33 uploaded in Te Anau (delayed due to bandwidth problems) 28 February 2005 - Parts 31 and 32 uploaded in freezing Queenstown as snow flurries fall on the hills on the last day of summer 24 February 2005 - Part 19 (complete) uploaded at Methven 20 February 2005 - Part 30 uploaded at Punakaiki (river levels down) 17 February 2005 - Part 29 uploaded at Punakaiki while waiting for the river levels to go down 16 February 2005 - Part 28 uploaded at Punakaiki where the rain has finally stopped after 36 hours) 14 February 2005 - Part 27 uploaded at Fox Glacier 11 February 2005 - Part 26 uploaded in Wanaka 8 February 2005 - Parts 24 and 25 uploaded in Queenstown (I have added the overall height climbed during each walk to the map profiles) 24 January 2005 - Part 23 uploaded on a summer day in Te Anau 22 January 2005 - Part 22 uploaded (back in Invercargill again) 16 January 2005 - Part 21 uploaded in Invercargill 15 January 2005 - Part 20 uploaded on a windy day at Invercargill 8 January 2005 - Part 19 uploaded on a rainy day in Methven 26 December 2004 - Part 18 uploaded in Christchurch 20 December 2004 - Part 17 uploaded at Hanmer Springs 17 December 2004 - Part 16 uploaded in Kaikoura as snow fell on the coastal hills 2 December 2004 - Part 15 uploaded at Nelson 30 November 2004 - Parts 13 and 14 uploaded at Nelson. 21 November - Part 12 uploaded at Waitiki Landing 14 November 2004 - Part 11 uploaded at Taupo. 9 November 2004 - Part 10 uploaded at Whakapapa. 4 November 2004 - Part 9 uploaded in Palmerston North 28 October 2004 - Part 8 uploaded in Wellington. I have added a Track Profile to the map section as I think that it tells a lot about the walk. 19 October 2004 - Part 7 written in Napier (currently under flood) and uploaded in New Plymouth (just a bit wet) 8 October 2004 - Sixth part uploaded, thanks to Bay Cabinz at Paihia. 7 October 2004 - Second walk and skiing uploaded, thanks to Bay Cabinz at Paihia. 30 September 2004 - First serious walk uploaded in Napier. I have experimented by including a second part to each walk containing a 2D and 3D map showing our GPS mapped track (it is still a bit basic). 26 September 2004 - First part uploaded. It had not been easy finding places to upload from my notebook. Most internet cafes do not have the facilities to connect your own computer, but thanks to the friendly and helpful owner of Guncom computers in Otorohanga, I was able to sign on with a local ISP and become independent of IT cafes. 18 September 2004 - Start of the trip
